1. Description of Service

VenueGuide.au provides a searchable directory of Australian event venues. Users can search, filter, shortlist, compare, and send enquiries directly to venue operators. The service is free for event planners. Venue operators may access free and paid listing tiers.

2. Account Registration

To access features like saving shortlists and sending enquiries, you may need to create an account. You are responsible for:

• Providing accurate information
• Maintaining the security of your password
• All activity under your account

3. Venue Data Accuracy

Venue listings are sourced from publicly available information and direct owner submissions. While we make reasonable efforts to ensure accuracy, VenueGuide.au does not guarantee that all venue details (capacity, pricing, availability, amenities) are current or complete.

Some listings display a status badge indicating data quality:

• Listed — sourced from permitted data or direct submission
• Verified — reviewed by our editorial team
• Claimed — managed directly by the venue operator

Always confirm details directly with the venue before making booking decisions. VenueGuide.au is a search and discovery tool, not a booking platform.

4. Enquiries

When you send an enquiry through VenueGuide.au, your provided details (name, email, event date, message) are shared only with the specific venue you selected. We do not resell leads. Marketing consent is always a separate, opt-in choice — never bundled with an enquiry.

5. Sponsored and Featured Placements

Some venues, vendors and services appear with a "Sponsored", "Advertisement" or "Partner" label. These placements are paid. The label is shown with equal visual weight to the sponsor's name. Paid placement influences visibility on the page but does not change the underlying search ranking, which is determined by relevance to your filters.

We never disguise paid placements as organic results, and we never override a venue's match-reason tags or capacity data because a sponsor pays for visibility elsewhere on the site.

6. Payments and Subscriptions

Paid venue listing plans will be billed monthly or annually via Stripe. Prices are listed in AUD and may include GST for Australian customers. You can cancel your subscription at any time from your account settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period.

7. Refund Policy

We offer a 30-day money-back guarantee on all paid plans. If you are not satisfied within 30 days of your first payment, contact us for a full refund. This is in addition to your rights under the Australian Consumer Law.

8. Australian Consumer Law

Nothing in these terms limits your rights under the Australian Consumer Law (ACL). Our services come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the ACL. You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage.

9. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use the service for any illegal purpose
• Scrape or bulk-download venue data
• Submit fake enquiries or spam venue operators
• Attempt to gain unauthorised access to our systems
• Upload malicious content or impersonate others
• Resell or redistribute venue data without permission

10. Intellectual Property

• You retain ownership of content you submit (enquiry text, venue descriptions if you are an operator)
• We retain ownership of the VenueGuide.au service, design system, 3D Atlas, and branding
• Venue photographs displayed on the site are sourced under licence from Unsplash or provided by venue operators

11. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law (and subject to your rights under the ACL), VenueGuide.au's liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding any claim. We are not liable for decisions you make based on venue listings, nor for the conduct of venue operators.

12. Privacy

Your data is handled as described in our Privacy Policy. We do not sell your personal information.

13. Changes to Terms

We may update these terms. Material changes will be communicated via email to registered users. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.

14. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of Western Australia, Australia. Disputes will be resolved in the courts of Western Australia.

15. Advertising and Free Tier

VenueGuide.au is free to use because free-tier pages carry a small amount of third-party advertising delivered by Google AdSense (publisher ID ca-pub-8065068206890729) under the IAB TCF v2.2 consent framework. Free-tier advertising never appears on the sign-in, sign-up, dashboard, admin, checkout, privacy, terms, official, or sponsor pages, and never if you are signed in as a Pro Planner, founding, venue owner or admin user.

You can opt out of third-party advertising at any time by:

• Adjusting your cookie preferences on the cookie settings page
• Upgrading to Pro Planner, which removes all third-party advertising across the site
